Geiger receives first ever call-up for Germany U21s

Dennis Geiger has been named in the Germany U21 national team squad for the first time. Head coach Stefan Kuntz has called up the 21-year-old for the friendly match against Greece (5 September/18:15 CET) and the opening match in qualification for the European Championships away to Wales (10 September/20:00 CET).

The midfielder will join the national team squad on Monday after this weekend's Bundesliga match away to Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Arthroscopy for Kramaric

Andrej Kramaric will undergo an arthroscopy in his homeland of Croatia today, meaning he will remain out of action for the foreseeable future. The striker has been suffering from a stubborn injury to his right knee for several weeks, resulting in him already having to take a step back during pre-season. Get well soon, Andrej!

Bičakčić makes Team of the Round

There was more good news for Ermin Bičakčić just two days after he helped TSG to a spectacular 3-2 win over Werder Bremen: the centre-back was rewarded for his Matchday 2 performance with a place in the "kicker", ARD Sportschau and BILD-Zeitung Teams of the Round. The Bosnian equalised at 1-1 against the Green & Whites.
