Baumgartner gets the number 14 shirt

Christoph Baumgartner has changed shirt numbers: the midfielder will wear the number 14 shirt going forward, having previously had the number 42 on his back. The 20-year-old Austrian made his Bundesliga debut for TSG on Matchday 33 last season and three weeks later extended his contract in Hoffenheim until 30 June 2023. "Baumi is an extremely talented player with great technique and a good eye for space going forward. That consistently allows him to find solutions in tight in-game situations and he poses a goal threat on top of that," said Alexander Rosen, the director of football, who added: "He's a player with a lot of potential."

DFB Cup: Duisburg on a Tuesday

The German Football Association (DFB) scheduled the exact dates and times of the DFB Cup Second Round fixtures on Friday. TSG Hoffenheim will face third-tier outfit MSV Duisburg at 18:30 CET on Tuesday 29 October.

The match will be shown live on Sky.

TSG reached the next round after beating Würzburger Kickers 5-4 on penalties (FT: 2-2; ET: 3-3) two weeks ago.
