TSG held to another draw

TSG Hoffenheim extended their unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga to nine matches as they claimed a point in a 1-1 (0-1) draw at SV Werder Bremen on Matchday 16 of the season. Leonardo Bittencourt scored the goal for the visitors in the 31st minute.

Personnel & tactics

Adam Szalai replaced Reiss Nelson but there were no other changes to the starting XI that drew 0-0 against Borussia Mönchengladbach last time out. Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann was protected by a back three of Kasim Adams, Stefan Posch and Ermin Bicakcic, while Kerem Demirbay, Leonardo Bittencourt and Andrej Kramaric formed the midfield trio and Szalai played alongside Joelinton up front.

Julian Nagelsmann made a double substitution in the 53rd minute of the match, withdrawing Bicakcic and goalscorer Bittencourt and bringing on Benjamin Hübner and Florian Grillitsch. The third and final change came on 66 minutes when Nelson replaced Szalai.

Moment of the match

The 83rd minute: Nico Schulz's cross presented Andrej Kramaric with a golden chance to re-establish the Hoffenheim lead, but Bremen custodian Jiri Pavlenka blocked the shot and denied the Sinsheim outfit what would have probably been the winning goal.

Number of the game: 1

Leonardo Bittencourt scored his first competitive goal in a match that ended with one goal and one point for each team.
