Nagelsmann: "Both teams enjoy attacking"

Julian Nagelsmann spoke at the press conference prior to the Bundesliga home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (Saturday at 15:30 CET, Live Ticker on achtzehn99.de) about the personnel situation and the opposition.

Julian Nagelsmann on…

…the clash with Gladbach: "I'm expecting the match to be similar to ones in recent years. We're both teams that like to play football and enjoy attacking. There have been a lot of goals scored in the past and I think that it's going to be another entertaining game. It'll be important for us to get the three points on the board tomorrow. I believe that my team is capable of doing so."

…the opposition: "Their sporting performance in the past few years has surprised me. Gladbach are one of the best teams in the league. They've strengthened well and so the current success isn't surprising."

…the personnel situation: "Dennis Geiger and Nadiem Amiri are being slowly eased back in and so they won't be in the squad. It was a reward and an incentive for both players to be part of the team against Manchester City. Florian Grillitsch and Andrej Kramaric are carrying slight knocks. A decision will be taken today as to whether the two players can feature. My general feeling is positive."

The social media fan question of the week:

What do you say to the team right before a game? Do you have a ritual? "We form a circle before every match where I hold a team talk. But the content of the talk varies from game to game."

Head-to-head record:

The two teams have previously met in the Bundesliga on 20 occasions. TSG have the marginally superior head-to-head record with seven victories, seven draws and six defeats.

The opposition's form:

Impressively, Borussia Mönchengladbach occupy second spot at present with 29 points after 14 rounds of matches. They beat VfB Stuttgart 3-0 at home last time out.
