Kramaric: "We still believe"

Julian Nagelsmann and Andrej Kramaric spoke at the press conference prior to the Champions League match against Manchester City (Wednesday at 21:00 CET, Live Ticker on achtzehn99.de) about the position in the group, the personnel situation and the opposition.

Julian Nagelsmann on…

…the position in the group: "It's a difficult situation. Even an optimist can say as much. We have ourselves to blame for that due to the fact our good performances have been accompanied by less good results. We want to enjoy the game tomorrow. It'll be about trying to play with freedom. We want to produce the football that got us into the Champions League."

…Pep Guardiola: "For me he's one of the best coaches in the world and a fascinating character. The original purpose of us getting in contact was so that I could learn something from him. I like learning things from coaches who are more successful and experienced than me. We're in contact now and again but it's not as though we write to each other on a weekly basis."

…the squad: "We have 19 players in total. One of the travelling players will be omitted from the squad. Dennis Geiger was out for a very long time but is almost back to 100 percent fitness and has no major problems. As for Nadiem Amiri, the injury layoff was not quite as long. He absolutely wanted to go to the U23s to get some playing time under his belt. I'm delighted that the pair are nearing a comeback. It means we have more alternatives."

Andrej Kramaric on…

…the possibility of reaching the Europa League: "We still believe. There have been miracles in football before. We'll try to play our brand of football. We've played well in our previous matches. We still have a small hope and we'll see what happens. We want to enjoy the match and give our best."

…on his past in the Premier League: "It's an interesting story. It was historic with Leicester City. I was still very young and didn't have much experience. But I don't regret the path I've taken in my career. I'm very happy at TSG Hoffenheim."

…Manchester City: "They're one of the best teams in Europe. We're hoping that we catch Manchester City on an off-day and have a better day ourselves."

The opposition's form:

Manchester City only need a point against TSG Hoffenheim to secure a first-place finish in the group. In the Premier League, however, Pep Guardiola's charges suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Chelsea at the weekend and were replaced by Liverpool at the top of the table.

Head-to-head record:

The reverse fixture was the first time the two teams have met. Ishak Beldofil fired TSG into the lead after only 45 seconds, but Kun Agüero restored parity for the "Citizens" in the seventh minute before David Silva grabbed an 87th minute winner to seal a 2-1 victory.
