"We fought our way back exceptionally well"

Here we bring you the reactions from the players and both coaches after the exciting 3-3 (1-1) draw with Olympique Lyon in the UEFA Champions League.

Ermin Bicakcic: "Our feelings are mixed. We're delighted to get the point, but we're also disappointed that we didn't get all three. That was a possibility today. Obviously Lyon have a lot of quality, but we only have ourselves to blame for two of the goals we conceded. You can't afford to do that against a team like that. But we came back superbly and put into practise what we'd planned to do. What was ultimately important was to get some sort of result."

Oliver Baumann: "It's very annoying that we didn't win. We had the better of the game and created a crazy amount of good goalscoring opportunities. We were also a little bit unlucky at the decisive moments. We subsequently fought our way back into the game exceptionally well and it's just a shame that we didn't win. All of our performances in the Champions League have been very good. That's why it's tough to take that we've almost come away empty-handed."

Kevin Akpoguma: "For the neutral fans it was a very entertaining game. The first half was incredible. It was important not to end on the losing side. Now we have the return fixture in Lyon coming up and we're still within touching distance of them in the group table. Everything is still possible, so we'll carry forward all the positives from this game into our next one."

Nico Schulz: "After the first 10 minutes we played well and created chances. Then we simply gifted the opposition the goals. It was tough to go behind like that. But that was no reason to let our heads drop. We want to stay in the competition, so it was clear that we'd continue to fight back. The equaliser was the least that we could get. But the prevailing sentiment is frustration. We didn't win, which is why in my eyes it wasn't a step forward."

Pavel Kaderabek: "We should've won this match, they were basically three own goals. After the first 10 minutes we were the better team, but that happens in football."

Julian Nagelsmann: "It was a very entertaining game, we had a lot of chances. I'm more than satisfied with the attack, because I think we played some outstanding football. After the opening 10 minutes we dominated the match, the opposition didn't have chances. We were the better team and I'll prepare the lads so that that'll also be the case in the return fixture. In the end I'm happy that we still managed to get the point. It'll be important for the table."

Bruno Genesio (Olympique Lyon coach): "I'm a little disappointed that we won't be taking home all three points. But that wouldn't have been deserved either. We made a good start to the game but then Hoffenheim were better. In the second half we got the equaliser and then took the lead, but towards the end we lost possession too frequently."
