''A team that can really play''

In the press conference before the away match against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday (15.30 CET) Julian Nagelsmann discussed the opposition, the current personnel situation and the numerous games in the weeks to come.

Julian Nagelsmann on...

...the current personnel situation: ''Things are looking worse than they have been in the last couple of weeks. Kasim Adams is definitely out. With Ermin Bicakcic and Kevin Akpoguma there's at least some hope. Kerem Demirbay trained again for the first time, but he's not going to be fit enough. We want to give him time. We're gradually starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.''

…Fortuna Düsseldorf:  ''They've played two very different Bundesliga matches so far. In their home match against FC Augsburg they were very conservative, it seemed like they hadn't quite adapted to the demands of the Bundesliga. In Leipzig they played some great football and were incredibly bold. They could have taken the lead by more and then come away with the win. It was a really enjoyable match to watch on the television. They've really developed in a positive way over the course of the last two years. Düsseldorf are a team that can really play.''

...this weekend's match-up: ''I'm not familiar with the stadium and I'm looking forward to being there. We want to do a better job than our opponent at shaping the match.''

…the next few games in the weeks to come: ''It's not easy to prepare ourselves for these matches. We're already planning our next few fixtures. Our video analyst is already working on the Borussia Dortmund match. Despite the numerous commitments facing us in the next few weeks, we're determined to have a clear plan and be fully prepared for each opponent.''

…Friedhelm Funkel: "I'm looking forward to our first head-to-head meeting. He's given his team a signature style and should take a lot of credit for their positive development."

…Nico Schulz: "It wasn't an easy scenario for his international debut given the huge pressure exerted on the national team by the media after the World Cup. I congratulated him on his goal and I think he makes for a really interesting option in his position for the German first XI. "

The previous encounters:

The two teams have played each other twice before. In the 2012/13 Bundesliga season, the match in Düsseldorf ended 1-1, whilst later in the season in Sinsheim TSG emerged as 3-0 winners.''

The opponent's form:

Fortuna have taken a 1-0 lead in both of their Bundesliga matches so far. This was enough for a draw against Leipzig, but against FC Augsburg coach Friedhelm Funkel's team ultimately went on to lose the match. After two matches, Düsseldorf find themselves in 12th position in the table with one point.
