MVV and TSG extend proven partnership

TSG Hoffenheim and the Mannheim-based energy company MVV Energie have extended their successful partnership by a further three years until June 2021. For many years, MVV has been TSG's energy partner and is represented, among other things, by the company logo on the stadium facade. The company carries a major presence in the area surrounding the club and also works closely with TSG on non-sporting matters such as social projects in the region.

"As one of the leading energy companies in Germany, MVV is like TSG Hoffenheim in that it pursues a strategy based on the principles of sustainability, innovation and future viability. There are other things we have in common too: both partners are strongly rooted in their homeland, the metropolitan Rhine-Neckar region, and are successful outside the region," said TSG Hoffenheim Managing Director Dr. Peter Görlich. "We're delighted that this partnership will continue in the long-term and that MVV will remain by our side," Görlich added.

MVV Chairman Dr. Georg Müller echoed those sentiments as he underlined the significance of the regional partnership. "Football is synonymous with energy, passion and enthusiasm. That's what connects us with TSG Hoffenheim," he said. For both partners, innovation and sustainability play a central role. Müller said: "As TSG's energy partner, we use our competence and experience and assume social responsibility in the Sinsheim area, where we've been responsible for the gas supply for a number of years now."

The MVV logo will continue to be prominently displayed at the stadium, while the company will also obtain title, naming and other rights of use as part of the partnership. As well as obtaining a hospitality package, a section of a stand in the arena will bear its name too.

MVV is synonymous with the development of renewable energies and the improvement of energy efficiency. As a company that is both firmly anchored in the town and region while still operating on a national and international level, it embraces social responsibility. The high standards in terms of sustainability and the development of innovative technologies will continue to be at the forefront of the partnership in the future. "MVV has played a major role in helping the arena to be regarded as a role model for environmental friendliness in the Bundesliga," emphasised TSG President Peter Hofmann. "We're all very thankful that the company has been at our side for so long; that's not to be taken for granted in this day and age. MVV has been supporting us since our Regionalliga days, making it a TSG partner right from the very beginning. We've grown together with MVV and we're now looking forward to the Champions League together."

With around 6,000 staff, TSG sees MVV as the ideal partner with the greatest-possible know-how in the energy field. The Mannheim-based company covers all the steps of the value chain – including energy generation, energy trade, energy distribution, the operation of its own networks, sales and energy service-related business. The corporation is one of the leading firms in Germany with regard to renewable energies and waste incineration, as well as the safe, environmentally-friendly and reliable supply of electricity, heat, gas and drinking water. MVV offers both private and commercial clients as well as industrial and business customers a broad range of products and services for a future-oriented and sustainable energy supply.
