Thursday

Foda observes training

Franco Foda, the coach of the Austrian national team, paid a visit to TSG Hoffenheim's training session in Windischgarsten on Thursday. The 52-year-old watched the morning session from the sidelines, using the opportunity to keep tabs on the Austrian quartet of Stefan Posch, Robert Zulj, Christoph Baumgartner and Florian Grillitsch.

Wednesday

Herdling shadowing the coaching staff

Kai Herdling, a former Hoffenheim player and the current TSG U16 coach, is currently staying with the club contingent at their training camp in Windischgarsten and shadowing Julian Nagelsmann's coaching team. Aside from two short spells away, the 34-year-old spent a total of 14 years at Hoffenheim and was part of the side that rose through the ranks from the Regionalliga to the Bundesliga. The former striker turned his attention to coaching after hanging up his boots, first serving as the assistant to Marco Wildersinn's U23s before being appointed the head coach of the U16s this season.

Tuesday

Hübner back in training

Tuesday saw centre-back Benjamin Hübner take part in a team training session in Windischgarsten for the first time, having previously been missing due to calf problems. That takes the current squad size to 23 outfield players and three goalkeepers. Philipp Ochs will become the 27th when he arrives at the training camp on Wednesday. Robin Hack, however, will be absent. The 19-year-old has the flu and will remain at home.
