Nagelsmann & Co. climb Alpspitze mountain

During the training camp in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the TSG Hoffenheim coaching and support staff went on an excursion on Tuesday that saw them climb to the top of the Alpspitze mountain.

It's not only the TSG Hoffenheim first team that have had their fitness put to the test in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Both the coaching and support stuff showed how in shape they are on Tuesday afternoon as they embarked upon an energy-sapping climb to the top of the Alpspitze mountain. The 2,628-metre-tall peak is located in the Wetterstein mountain range and, with its pyramid-shaped north face, is one of the main landmarks of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. According to Team Manager Timmo Hardung, who was filming with a GoPro camera, the ascent lasted "almost 90 minutes" and the way back took "around two hours". It was no biggie for the TSG officials and the Managing Directors Dr. Peter Görlich and Frank Briel, who all embraced the adventure. "It was a great experience, even if it was unfortunately a bit foggy. But it was a challenging climb during which we had to demonstrate our team spirit and support each other," said Görlich after the group had returned.

For the TSG contingent, the ferrata began at a height of approximately 2,000 metres. At times it took them across rocky terrain and in some places they could only progress using the safeguards attached to the mountain. But the reward for their hard work came at the summit as the climbers enjoyed an impressive panorama despite the fog.
