TSG earn a point in Frankfurt

TSG have extended their unbeaten run to six games after battling for a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt. After the hosts took the lead through Luka Jovic in the 50th minute, Serge Gnabry responded six minutes later with the equaliser.

Squad and Tactics:

Julian Nagelsmann was forced into just one change ahead of the game with Frankfurt. Kevin Vogt was laid low with Havard Nordtveit brought in as his replacement. The remaining players from last week’s convincing win over Köln lined up at the CommerzbankArena. Oliver Baumann started in goal behind a back row of Pavel Kaderabek, Kevin Akpoguma, Bordveit, Benjamin Hübner and Nico Schulz. Florian Grillitsch and Lukas Rupp made up the midfield, while Mark Uth, Serge Gnabry and Andrej Kramaric led the line up front.

Kerem Demirbay celebrated his comeback in the 52nd minute following his long injury layoff. The midfielder had been out since February after being injured against Hertha and replaced Lukas Rupp on Sunday. Five minutes later Andrej Kramaric was brought off in place of Nadiem Amiri. The final change came in the 83rd minute as Julian Nagelsmann withdrew Serge Gnabry for Adam Szalai.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH:

Fighting together: 42nd minute of the game, Oliver Baumann makes a spectacular to deny Marco Russ – the follow up effort is prevented by an heroic sliding tackle from Pavel Kaderabek.
