Reaction to #RBLTSG: "We were clinical"

Here's what the players and head coach had to say following TSG Hoffenheim's 5-2 win on matchday 31 in Leipzig.

Julian Nagelsmann: "That was a strange game: we had a lot of problems in the first half an hour. We wanted to defend deep and wait for the opportunities to counter, which paid off for the first two goals. On the whole, though, we were too passive in the opening stages and were outnumbered on the wings at times. In the second half, we adapted a few things and had more luck down the wings as a result. With the extra man, it obviously got easier and ended up being a big score line, which flatters us a little against such a strong opponent."

Ralph Hasenhüttl (Head Coach at RB Leipzig): "Congratulations to Hoffenheim. We tried to play a bit deeper than in previous games with our formation, and that worked for us at the start. The problem was that we couldn’t take our chances – had we done so, the game could have gone differently, but against a team like TSG, you get punished for your mistakes. With the red card at the start of the second half, it was pretty much game over."

Pavel Kaderabek: "We're very happy with how today went. In fact, it was perfect. I wanted to score my first Bundesliga goal much earlier than I have. I can only apologise to my teammates for that. I don't know exactly how long it's been. Leipzig are a very strong side. We sat a bit deeper and were effective on the break. When you go 3-0 up and your opponents are down to 10, you can't let that slip. We're on the up, have three games to go and believe in ourselves. Anything's possible."

Mark Uth: "It was an intense game but a very good one for me and the team. Leipzig made mistakes and we punished them for it. We want to win our last three games and we'll see where we end up."
