#BMGTSG reaction: "We gave everything!"

Read what both sets of managers and some of the players had to say after the 3-3 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Julian Nagelsmann:  "At the end of the day you look back and say that was an excellent game full of ups and downs for both sides. For us, as managers, it’s not such a great feeling: We didn’t expect Gladbach to line up as they did - this prevented us from getting a foothold in the game and disrupted our rhythm. Nevertheless, we, like Gladbach, had lots of great chances- but on the whole I can live with the point. I don’t think we deserved more than that today. We weren’t necessarily the better team today; the opposition were very good. We played very well, we gave everything to score three goals away from home, but the draw is a fair result."

Dieter Hecking (Borussia Mönchengladbach): "That was a terrific game of football from my point of view. Obviously when I look back at the three goals we conceded I find myself wishing we hadn’t conceded goals like that. A lot can be traced back to mistakes elsewhere on the pitch. Anyone who watched the game, though, and saw us come from behind to draw level three times has to take their hat off to that above all. Our formation worked well, despite Hoffenheim giving us a few headaches at the back. In hindsight we can be pleased with the draw – when you consider Nico Schulz’s chance to make it 4-2; that would have decided it, but he hit the bar and we had the chance to equalise again."

Benni Hübner: "We have to be pleased. Obviously it’s disappointing to concede so late in the day, especially after having led three times. When you take the lead so often, you obviously hope to be able to see out the win as well, but in the end we have to be happy with the point. We knew Gladbach were a quality side, especially going forward and they showed that today."

Florian Grillitsch: "We defended very deep towards the end and found it difficult to get forward at all. It’s gutting to concede such a late equaliser, but it has to be said: a draw is fair. It was a very open game with lots of chances for both sides, for the spectators that may well be nice, but unfortunately it didn’t all go quite to plan for us. We’ll take the point, but obviously three would have been nicer!"

Nico Schulz: "Despite all their absentees, Gladbach still fielded a strong team: They have real strength in depth and they showed that today. This was a good game for the fans – we were a little too passive after taking the lead."

Havard Nordtveit: "It was very special for me to be back in Borussia-Park; I have lots of great memories here. Both teams played well, it was an intense game, we took the lead three times and so the points were in our hands. Unfortunately, we lacked a bit of conviction to see the win out and Gladbach were able to keep fighting back. It was a fair result in the end."
