"We'll win nothing playing like that" - #FCBTSG reaction

We bring you all the reaction from TSG Hoffenheim’s 5-2 defeat to Bayern München on matchday 20 in the Bundesliga.

Julian Nagelsmann: "We mostly played well in the first half. The early goal was obviously great and then we double the lead in a period where Bayern were threatening. We then had a great opportunity that really should have given us a third. But we played a bad pass. After that, they upped their pressure and we defended poorly from set pieces. And so we go into the break at 2-2. Straight after the break we had a two-on-one against Boateng, but we couldn’t get the shot off. Instead Bayern went up the other end and scored themselves. Then we needed to open up a bit more. In the end, Bayern deserved their win. Their defence was very strong, so we weren’t able to create many chances."

Jupp Heynckes (Bayern München head coach): "That was a fantastic game from both teams. We were two goals down after 12 minutes against a well-organised and structured team. Hoffenheim used the space afforded to them very well and were strong on the break. It was important to go into the break at 2-2. The team trained incredibly hard this week, which gave me a good feeling. I warned the players of what Hoffenheim could do. They are a very good team that suffered a big defeat last week too. It was remarkable how supporters supported us after going behind early. We played fantastically down the left and in central defence. I like to keep clean sheets, but against a strong opponent I will happily take today’s result."

Kevin Vogt: "I’m disappointed and very unhappy. We know that Bayern are a very strong team and everyone knows that you can ship a few goals here. But the way we conceded today simply isn’t acceptable. We didn’t defend set pieces well, Bayern kept getting free headers. We’ll win nothing playing like that."

Pavel Kaderabek: "Bayern are very strong. They win almost every match in the league. We went 2-0 up, but defended set pieces badly. With a bit of luck you can get a win here, but the performance needs to be there too."

Florian Grillitsch: "We started very well and unfortunately let the game slip away from us too easily with the set pieces. We didn’t stick to our men – their individual makes no difference in that case."
