"We can still qualify" - #BFKTSG match reaction

All the reaction from coaches and players following TSG's 1-1 draw with Basaksehir on matchday 4 in the UEFA Europa League.

Julian Nagelsmann: "We had significantly more space tonight compared to the last match, both in the first and second half. In the first half we didn’t deal so well with a few situations. The first 15 minutes of the second half was good, however , but we should have scored a second or third goal. In the end, a point is very fair – a deserved draw for our opponents. Our situation hasn’t changed drastically. We need six points and we need to hurry up and get them. Things aren’t looking too good for Kevin Vogt. We don’t have any diagnosis at this stage, we need to wait and see. It didn’t sound too good. I’m expecting the worse for now. The game wasn’t too aggressive though. There were two unnecessary fouls at the start, but after that the game played out at a normal level.

Abdullah Avci: "We played with a different strategy today compared to in the last game. Hoffenheim switch between different systems very fluidly and have a very young, strong squad. We wanted to put more pressure on them in the middle so that TSG would be forced to play more long balls. It was important to have lots of possession, but our opponents defended the space well in the first half. In my opinion, there was a clear foul in the build up to their goal, but I am proud of the character my team showed and how we played going forward after that. In the end we deserved a point."

Florian Grillitsch: "The first half was even, so we there was a lot to take on board. The early goal from us was good. But after that we didn’t continue to play football and missed the chance to make it 2-0. That made things very difficult. The late equaliser was a blow and we are very disappointed. But we need to look forward. If we win our final two games in the Europa League, we can go through."

Havard Nordtveit: "We didn’t play exactly how we had wanted to. We didn’t play enough good football and tried the long ball too often. Of course the end was a bitter pill to swallow. We defended well for the whole game and were very close to keeping a clean sheet. Three points would have obviously been much better, but we still have the chance to go through. I’m staying positive. At least for now we can look to improve on Sunday in the Bundesliga.

Andrej Kramaric: "I don’t know if I’m happy or sad. Probably sad. We did get a point, but it was a very late goal to concede. Not for the first time this season either. That’s frustrating. I can’t say why that is happening. We can still go through, but we need to give our all. We have the potential required, but we need to give everything against Ludogrets and Braga. I hope that Kevin Vogt is ok. It’s extremely important for us because he’s a very important player for the team."
