TSG still unbeaten at home following Augsburg draw

TSG extended their home unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to 22 games. Julian Nagelsmann's side were held to a 2-2 draw by FC Augsburg. Benjamin Hübner and Mark Uth scored for Hoffenheim, while Michael Gregoritsch and a Kevin Vogt own goal helped the visitors claim a point.

Line-up and tactics

Julian Nagelsmann made four changes to the team that faced SC Freiburg last time out in the Bundesliga – Kerem Demirbay, Nadiem Amiri, Mark Uth and Stefan Posch all came in to the starting XI against Augsburg.  Oliver Baumann, Sandro Wagner, Steven Zuber, Benjamin Hübner, Kevin Vogt, Andrej Kramaric and Dennis Geiger.

TSG began the match in the usual 3-5-2 formation, with Hübner, Vogt and Posch, who was celebrating his Bundesliga debut, forming the back three in front of Baumann. They were flanked by Mark Uth and Steven Zuber. Geiger, Demirbay and Amiri held the midfield behind Wagner and Kramaric up top.

Moment of the Match:

Benjamin Hübner’s celebration – a sight of pure relief. So much joy. Barely a couple of minutes after wasting a great chance from just four yards out the defender was deserving of his goal after getting himself in the right position once again.

Number of the Match: 100

Julian Nagelsmann took charge of his 56th game as Hoffenheim coach against Augsburg, and saw his side pick up their 100th point and score their 100th goal.
