We managed to beat Bayern, but now the focus switches completely to Braga. We wanted to play in all three competitions; we wanted to play this frequently; we wanted to have this “strain”. There’s a real sense of anticipation within the team for the match.

As always, Julian has set out a plan, which we’ve discussed and practised what we need to for it. We’re going to try to bring it to the game and shape the game the way we want it to play out. Three points at home would be perfect.
... Sporting Braga.
They’re a very strong team, who have a lot of height and power up front. We know how to deal with that, though.
... Hoffenheim’s defensive strength.
We have a fantastic group in terms of both ability and character and we have a sound plan for every match. We’re very disciplined and we love to win together. Everyone works together and that’s why we’re defensively strong. [TSG have not conceded any goals in any of their last seven Bundesliga home matches].
... being knocked out by Liverpool in the Champions League playoffs.
Liverpool was a great experience – we learned a lot from it. The long journey, the atmosphere at Anfield Road – I think it’ll all prove helpful in future international competitions. For sure, we would have liked to have gone through but we’re looking forward to the Europa League now and we want to achieve something in it.
... being the favourites in group C.
I don’t know who said that we’re the favourites in the group. We really want to proceed, that’s our target at the moment. In the ideal case, we’d win all six matches and that’s what we’ll try to do but it’s going to be very hard. We always want to win.
