Ludogorets reaction: "This was not a good game"

Here's what the boss and some of his players had to say after the 2-1 defeat in Bulgaria.

Julian Nagelsmann: We had enough quality on the pitch today to win this game. Especially when you take the lead after two minutes. But from the 7th minute on, the opposition were better than us. Maybe the players thought it would be easy after our early goal. We needed to double our lead soon after, but instead we give away two big chances. We won far too few fifty-fifties, that won’t do. You can’t win a game of football like this. The flow of the game was just like against Braga. We didn’t deserve the win, because we didn’t push ourselves to our limits, like we have been doing in the Bundesliga so far.

Oliver Baumann: I don’t know why we didn’t have enough to win today. We started very well, but then we let Ludogorets come into the game. We gave the ball away a lot and found ourselves tracking back as a result. This wasn’t a good game from us. We weren’t thinking quickly enough either. Ludogorets also have some good players in their squad, who can score goals like that. All in all, we didn’t win enough fifty-fifties and committed too many fouls. We have messed up our start in the Europa League.

Eugen Polanski: Everyone in every position has to perform- that didn’t happen today. We will sit down and analyse where it went wrong today. I think we failed to keep the ball in the opposition half too much. That obviously makes it difficult to keep the opposition away from our goal. Our aim was to win. We will definitely put in better performances than that in our coming Europa League games.

Pavel Kaderabek: We started very well, took the lead early, but then it was a poor game from us. Things aren’t going as we’d hoped in Europe so far. We have to keep focusing on our own game and quite simply play better in our coming games.
