Last season we worked incredibly hard to achieve our aim of Champions League qualification, but we know that anything can happen in the playoffs. This fact has been in the back of our minds since the last game of the season, even during our celebrations. We have been looking forward to both these games for three months. We know how good Hoffenheim are. There are simply two games, and two strong teams. Such is the way of football. 

... TSG Hoffenheim.

They are a very good side, and play very good football. I am not bigging up TSG. They are a team that have many strengths, but that, of course, also have weaknesses, and we will be looking to exploit these. We know all about TSG and we are relishing the challenge. TSG’s football is occasionally somewhat frantic, but they are also very well organised and aggressive. Their team exudes confidence. The videos that we have shown our guys speak for themselves. TSG are a quality side.

... Hoffenheim.

TSG are in the Bundesliga. Last season they finished fourth. Therefore no one in Liverpool is interested in the fact that Hoffenheim is a small town.

Philippe Coutinho is not available to play tomorrow. That is a setback for us. Furthermore, both Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge are out injured. Daniel almost made it, but he still needs a little more time.

... TSG Hoffenheim.

We have watched a lot of footage of TSG, so we know that they are a very good side. Of course, Roberto Firmino and Jürgen Klopp are even more familiar with Hoffenheim. We know that they play very aggressively, that they are very well organised, and that they have two dangerous strikers in Sandro Wagner and Andrej Kramaric. They also have another strong player in Serge Gnabry who comes into the attack. These two games represent a great opportunity for us, but they will also be a real challenge.

Roberto is a fantastic player. He is incredibly skillful, and he is always fully committed to giving his all for the team. Therefore he is a really important part of our side.
