#B04TSG reaction: "Backspin isn't a problem for me."

Here's what the players and managers had to say after a hard-fought draw in Leverkusen.

Julian Nagelsmann: The first five or six minutes were good – we defended well in our 4-3-3 formation. Just as we had imagined. Then Leverkusen began to push us further and further back. We experienced lots of problems moving the play forward and Leverkusen always had numbers back. There were lots of close calls. Leverkusen had big chances and the 1-0 lead was more than deserved. We were actually lucky to still be in the game. We changed a few things at half time which worked well for us. The equaliser was good. Conceding directly after wasn’t. I was very pleased with my team’s attitude after so many games in the last week. All-in-all, it was a lucky point, even though we had the chances to win at the end. It wouldn’t have been deserved. Leverkusen are a very good side and we’re happy with the point.

Heiko Herrlich: Their second equaliser shouldn’t have stood in my opinion. If we’ve got the video assistance then we should look at this properly. It’s frustrating. If the video assistance isn’t used to its full extent, then I’m not a fan of it.

Kevin Vogt: The first half wasn’t good. We addressed this very clearly at half time as well. We were lucky to only be one goal behind. We didn’t play the way we’d intended to and Leverkusen put immense pressure on us. We had a look at some match footage at the break and saw that there was space to play. We did this in the second half. I could feel my legs today, of course I could, but you won’t hear me talking about a Europa League burden. We wanted to be there and it is a great opportunity for us. Tired legs are no excuse for the first-half performance.

Mark Uth: Obviously I didn’t intend to score the goal like that. But I’ll take it. I’m a golfer, backspin isn’t a problem for me (laughs). All things considered, the point was lucky. We weren’t winning our challenges before the break and we gave them too many chances. We could have been more goals behind. After the break we showed good mentality and deserved the point in the end.

Karim Bellarabi: We should have scored more in the first half. So it’s frustrating that our performance wasn’t enough for the three points. We had lots of clear-cut chances before the break which we just didn’t convert. We were the better team, so we can’t be satisfied with the point. We have great potential and we’ll build on this performance.
