Top facts: TSG one of just two unbeaten European sides

BVB travel to TSG on Friday evening in a fixture that has provided a draw in the last three years. Moreover, “Hoffe” vs. Dortmund could set a record... Here are all the important dates, figures and faces for matchday 15 of the Bundesliga.

Did you know that...

... Oliver Baumann is having a very good season?

TSG’s number 1 is also the number one keeper in the league, holding 79.4% of shots he has faced, a league high. Baumann’s fine form means that TSG have the opportunity to set a club record against BVB. Julian Nagelsmann’s side have not conceded in 245 minutes. The club record dates back to between August and September 2009, when Hoffenheim went 302 minutes without letting in a league goal.

... TSG and Real Madrid have something in common?

Both “Hoffe” as well as “Los Blancos are still unbeaten in their respective leagues this season. They are both the only teams in Europe’s top five divisions who can say that.

... The last three fixtures between TSG and BVB in Sinsheim have ended in a draw?

This match finished in a 1-1 draw in the past two seasons at the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena, while the teams also could not be separated in a 2-2 stalemate in the 2013/14 season. BVB were 3-1 victors the year before that, as was also the case on 16th December 2012. Kevin Großkreutz and Robert Lewandowski, who were playing for BVB four years ago, will not be there to strike for BVB. Mario Götze is the only player from that year that could get on the scoresheet. But the story certainly will not be the same...

... TSG have a superb points total under Julian Nagelsmann?

Since Nagelsmann took over as head coach at Hoffenheim in February, TSG have picked up 49 points. Only two Bundesliga teams have been better over that period, and they are FC Bayern Munich (68 points) and TSG’s next opponent, Dortmund (58).

... something was always on offer with Sebastian Rudy and BVB in recent years?

The TSG midfielder scored Hoffenheim’s first goal in both league games last season but was sent off in the 3-1 defeat against BVB last season, which was on his birthday. It represents the only red card in his career.

... BVB are vulnerable away from home?

Dortmund remain without a win in three away games in all competitions. This is the first time in Thomas Tuchel’s time in charge that they have gone three matches away without victory. Key to that have been Borussia’s defensive frailties, having conceded in every one of their past eight away fixtures.

... Reus and Aubameyang have stood out for BVB?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already scored 15 goals and made one assist so far, while Marco Reus has been involved in a Dortmund goal in some form every 40 minutes, the best record in the Bundesliga this season. The TSG boys know who they need to keep their eyes on.

... Thomas Tuchel is a bit of a Sinsheim specialist?

The current Dortmund coach and former Mainz head coach has lost none of his six matches at the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena. His side have left as winners of three of those occasions, while the other three ended in a draw. It is high time that Tuchel experience his first defeat at the home of TSG.
