Lukas Hradecky: "Our most difficult home game"

Lukas Hradecky has now nearly made 50 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt during his time at the club. The Finland international spoke in an interview ahead of the game about going to the sauna, the turnaround at Eintracht, the last meeting between the two sides and the game on Friday evening.

We’ve heard that you like going to the sauna. How hot should it be and why do you like going so much?

Lukas Hradecky: It always depends. It can never be warm enough in winter (laughs). It’s the perfect way to relax, especially when you have a cold beer afterwards. I always look forward to it when I go back to Turku.

There were a lot of changes made to the Eintracht squad during summer. How have you managed to play so well together so quickly?

Hradecky: It really wasn’t that difficult. The new players are all great and fit in perfectly. There were also no language barriers. We all get along really well.

Last time out, TSG won 2-0 in Frankfurt. Will you watch this game again before Friday?

Hradecky: Definitely not (laughs). That was the last time we lost at home and we want to forget about it. Since then, we have had some great results in front of the home crowd.

Last season, both Eintracht and Hoffenheim were often near the bottom of the table. Now you’re both competing in the top half. Does that surprise you?

Hradecky: It definitely wasn’t expected. But both teams have a really good manager and have worked hard to get there. It’s no coincidence.

Recently you said that Niko Kovac ‘isn’t always nice.’ How so?

Hradecky: He is a perfectionist and always wants us to improve. He isn’t afraid to say exactly what he thinks. He is a really good coach.

Hoffenheim are one spot ahead of Frankfurt in fourth. Both teams currently have 25 points. What will be the decisive factor on Friday evening?

Hradecky: It will be our most difficult home game yet, even though we have already played both Bayern and Dortmund. We will have to be fully focused and we can’t make any mistakes. We will have 50,000 fans behind us, maybe that will make the difference. We’ll see.
