Bayern match reaction

Here’s what those involved in the Saturday afternoon encounter with FC Bayern Munich had to say about the draw.

Julian Nagelsmann: We’ll gladly take the point. The way the second half went, a Bayern victory would have been deserved; they put us under huge pressure and we didn’t have much space to breathe. In the first half, we were very tidy and our goal was very well created from the back. After the break we also had a few counter attacks which we could have executed better. We’re happy with the point.

Carlo Ancelotti: Our game was good, at the start we had problems because Hoffenheim defended highly. However, after the break we had the game in our grasp and created many goal-scoring chances. But this is football – sometimes you don’t have as much luck as you need. We played against a good team today.

Kerem Demirbay: I think we can be satisfied to take a point, but our game with the ball today wasn’t good. Our mentality was right and we showed that we can stop a team like Bayern. They put us under immense pressure and therefore upfront we weren’t as effective, this meant we couldn't execute our counters well.

Steven Zuber: Football is fast moving, you have to get over things like that and we did. I tried to clear the ball and it went wrong, I couldn’t think about how I was going to clear it. After the break we weren’t as good and Bayern improved but you saw that we deserve to be where we are in the table. We have worked hard for it. In attack, we lacked something today.
