Kevin Vogt: "good to step out of your comfort zone"

He organises his team, talks a lot and has settled in well. Kevin Vogt feels very happy at TSG. The 24-year-old spoke to achtzehn99.de about the training camp in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, his first few days and the number 22.

KEVIN VOGT ON ...

... his thoughts after four days in Garmisch

You can clearly see the strain. We had a long summer break, in which we all had our own individual training programmes, but nevertheless, the first few days are always exhausting. We are all aching, and so some of the sessions are not very easy. That will even out though as we spend more time on the pitch. The main thing is that training is good fun.

... the complex training drills

All of the exercises and drills are obviously new to me. Therefore, my first job is to get to grips with the instructions, and then I can start to show my quality. It is extremely important that we all remain focussed, and that we approach training in this way. We all need to stay relaxed on the pitch, otherwise one or two of the exercises would be very complex (laughs). Training is quite challenging, but it’s helping us to move in the right direction, and so I’m finding it really good.

... his first week at TSG

I feel very happy here. At the moment I am trying to settle in as quickly as possible, and get involved in training. A lot of things are very new to me, and I am trying to get used to them as quick as I can. I hope that that is clear to see for the coaching staff.

... team building

I think it’s really good, and a nice change from training sessions. I did canyoning for the first time, which was great fun. It was a good experience, and it sometimes does some good to step out of your comfort zone and test how far you can go. In general, I am very pleased with how the boys and the staff have taken me in.

... his shirt number

Simply put, 22 was available. Alexander Rosen told me which numbers were free. One of these was number 2, but I didn’t think that was suitable for a defensive midfielder. I would have liked number 23, but Marco Terrazzino beat me to it. So in the end I went for 22, which is also a good number.
