Kevin Vogt joins TSG

Kevin Vogt will wear the colours of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim from next season. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder joins the club from Bundesliga rivals 1. FC Köln and has signed a contract keeping him in Kraichgau until 30th June 2020.

The 1.94 meters tall, former U21s international is "already an established Bundesliga player, who has the quality to be an important link between our defence and attack,” according to TSG’s sporting director Alexander Rosen. He can “bring stability to our attacking-minded playing style and his personality will be a good addition to the squad,” said Rosen.

Vogt, who has featured in 111 Bundesliga matches for FC Augsburg and Köln (3 goals, 7 assists), is looking forward to his new challenge. “After some very good discussions with Julian Nagelsmann and Alexander Rosen, I am convinced that the desired playing style at TSG fits very well with my strengths and that I can contribute to further success at the club. I am fully aware of this responsibility. Also, the clubs approach both on and off the pitch made it easy for me to make this decision.”

Before his spells in Augsburg and Cologne, Vogt came through the ranks at VfL Bochum, where he signed his first professional contract as a 17-year old. He played seven times for the Germany U21s national team.
