Eugen Polanski extends until 2018

Eugen Polanski has extended his current contract with TSG for another year. It means that the 30-year-old midfielder will be a Hoffenheim player until at least 30th June 2018.

“In the last three-and-a-half years, Eugen has developed into a significant part of our team’s structure through his sporting achievements as well as his personality, professionalism and attitude,” said TSG director of football Alexander Rosen, when speaking about the experienced midfielder. “He is a role model for our many young players and we are happy that he will be involved at TSG in future.”

It is a role that Polanski is “happy” to take on. Furthermore, he is excited for what is to come after successfully beating the drop under new head coach Julian Nagelsmann. “Julian has shown us clearly the direction we need to go in since taking over the team,” said Polanski.” Being a part of the team as it develops further in the Bundesliga and being able to help out with my twelve years of professional football experience were important reasons for signing the extension.”

Polanski moved to Hoffenheim in 2013 from FSV Mainz 05 and made his 100th Bundesliga appearance for TSG on the final matchday of the recently concluded season. Overall, the midfielder has played 19 times for the Poland national team, 231 times in the Bundesliga (14 goals) in spells with Hoffenheim, Mainz and Borussia Mönchengladbach and 26 times for Getafe in the Spanish Primera Division.
