Joshua Mees joins SC Freiburg on loan
TSG have loaned out Joshua Mees to second-division side SC Freiburg until 30th June 2017. The youngster’s contract at Hoffenheim has also been extended by two years until 30th June 2018.
Mees joined the achtzehn99 ACADEMY at U17 level in 2011 and went on to win the German U19 Championship with Hoffenheim in 2014. His side reached the final again last season, but were beaten by Schalke 04. “Joshua is a talented attacker who should now develop further at Freiburg and get important game time at first-team level,” TSG’s director of football Alexander Rosen.
The 19-year-old forward had made four appearances in the Regionalliga for TSG’s reserves so far this season, scoring three goals. He has also been called into the Germany U20 side by manager Frank Wormuth for the upcoming international fixtures against Italy and Poland.
