Firmino selected for
the Selecao

Roberto Firmino was called up to the Selecao for the first time on Thursday afternoon by Brazil manager Carlos Dunga.

Dunga, who played in the Bundesliga and won the 1994 World Cup with Brazil, has included the attacking midfielder as part of his 23-man squad for their friendlies in November. The team will travel to Istanbul on 12th November to take on Turkey, before playing Austria in Vienna on 18th November.

TSG director of football Alexander Rosen: "We've always said that Roberto has everything needed in order to be selected for the Selecao. His call-up is a reward for his development and his performances over the last few months. We're very happy for him and believe that it's a reward for all the work that the manager, the players and the staff put in.”

Obviously, the player was very happy to be called-up: “I'm very, very lucky to be selected and want to thank everyone on the team. They've made it possible for me to develop my game and to become the player that I now am.”

Manager Markus Gisdol agrees: “It's a great honour for Roberto, but also for the whole team.”
