TSG celebrate impressive win in first friendly

After four days at the training camp in Westerburg and one day of recovery, TSG played their first friendly of the new season on Sunday. Markus Gisdol's team beat Sportfreunde Lauffen 8-0 in front of more than 1,000 spectators.

TSG's manager changed the whole team during the interval. Before half time, goals from Anthony Modeste and new signing Pirmin Schwegler put TSG into a 3-0 lead.

Just four minutes after half time, Sebastian Rudy increased the score to 4-0 with a free kick from almost 30 yards, before Tarik Elyounoussi added a fifth 15 minutes later (5-0).

TSG then took their foot off the gas a little for around quarter of an hour, but shortly before the end of the match, there was a flurry of goals. Adam Szalai, Roberto Firmino and Nadiem Amiri ensured a final score of 8-0 with three goals in a matter of only a few minutes.

Markus Gisdol was delighted with his team: “You can see the tiredness in the players following the training camp, but it was a decent performance for the first friendly.”
