DFB Cup: TSG face Landesliga side USC Paloma in first round

USC Paloma finished the recent 2013/14 campaign in second place in the Hamburg Hammonia Landesliga. USC also won the Hamburg Cup 3-2 after penalties against Oberliga side SC Condor. The match-winner for Paloma was goalkeeper Yannick Jonas, who saved three penalties.

USC get their wish

USC manager Marco Krausz spoke after his side's cup triumph last Thursday: “It's the crowning glory to an unbelievable season. The cup was simply our competition. Now we hope to get a Bundesliga side in the DFB Cup.” And he has gotten his wish...

The season is still not over for USC following the draw. They play two Oberliga play-off games in the coming week as they battle to achieve promotion.

USC Paloma currently have 25 players in their squad, with an average age of 26.7. Their most prolific scorer this season was 33-year-old striker Dennis Pannen, who scored 16 goals in 28 games and also assisted a further three. Defender André Lohfeldt also poses a danger – he scored eight goals and provided three assists.
