Boris Vukcevic watches TSG win from the stands

For the first time since his serious car accident in September 2012, Boris Vukcevic was in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Sunday afternoon to watch Hoffenheim's home game against Augsburg.

A week and a half after visiting his teammates at the training centre for the first time, he was able to support the team from the stadium. 18 months ago, Augsburg were the side TSG faced one day directly after Boris' accident. Back then, the Hoffenheim players wore T-shirts with the words “Get well soon, Boris”.

During the match against FCA, Boris Vukcevic met with TSG shareholder Dietmar Hopp, club president Peter Hofmann, chairman of the board Peter Rettig and sporting director Alexander Rosen. The 24-year-old also took a moment to talk to achtzehn99.de.

Boris on his experience in the stadium…

“I was over the moon to be back in the stadium. It was a real thrill. It's great that the lads won.”

Boris on his contact with the team…

“I avoided the team on purpose. I know how much concentration is required on matchday. But also, I just wanted to get used to the Bundesliga atmosphere again.”

Boris on his big wish…

“My biggest wish is to be able to play football again at some point. I'm working towards that.”
