HSV match reaction

Here is the match reaction after TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's 3-0 win against Hamburger SV:

Markus Gisdol: We wanted to implement the basic elements of our game today - high intensity, quick transition from defence to attack and aggressive tackling. We did that well. Discipline and good team-play helped us perform well. Today was a good start.

Bert van Marwijk: Looking at the statistics, I can see that we had 67% of the ball. This is our problem. We control a large amount of the game but we give away goals too easily. Even if the first goal was narrowly offside, we can't let it happen. We were far too amateur for the second goal. That was the key. A lot of things aren't going well for us at the moment. We have to stay together and win next time around.

Andreas Beck: Today we did what we had planned to do. We wanted to be dangerous in front of goal and play the way we did. Keeping a clean sheet was great. We've made hard work of opponents in similar positions to us and so the win today is all the more pleasing.

Eugen Polanski: We knew we could play and what we needed to do on the pitch. Every individual knew that we hadn't shown our capabilities of late. Everyone knew that today had to be different. We executed over 90 minutes. Winning to nil was good as well. It was important for all of us.

Niklas Süle: It was a great day for us. We kept a clean sheet and I scored. We worked hard, were well positioned, disciplined, and in the end were deserved winners. I am very happy. If we had made more of one or two counterattacks, the score may well have even been higher.

Tobias Strobl: We responded perfectly to last week. The team got into the game well. I needed a while to get used to my new position but David Abraham made things easy for me. We were great defensively and executed our game plan brilliantly.
