First test of 2014: Harder13 Cup on Saturday

Hoffenheim's players have had just twelve days off with their families. Friday even saw some of them already back in training. As usual, the winter break has been short – particularly so in a season which is followed by the World Cup.

TSG will kick off 2014 with the Harder13 Cup and manager Markus Gisdol, who also shortened his break, has watched over the year's first training session to help his side get prepared for the tournament in Mannheim's SAP Arena.

Ten outfield players and two goalkeepers will make up Hoffenheim's squad for the matches against Karlsruher SC, SV Sandhausen, Waldhof Mannheim and FSV Frankfurt. The doors in Mannheim open at 16:00 CET. The tournament will begin at 17:45 CET with TSG's match against Karlsruher SC.

There will be eight first-team players involved for Hoffenheim: Alexander Stolz, Kevin Akpoguma, Vincenzo Grifo, Kenan Karaman, Robin Szarka, Jeremy Toljan, Andreas Ludwig and Bruno Nazario.

Markus Gisdol will also include four players from the U19s. Seven players will take part in Friday's first-team training session. The ones that impress the most will make up the team in Mannheim.

The Harder13 Cup format is everyone against everyone. The two best sides will then play in the final for the title.
