International break - Casteels, Grifo, Akpoguma and Trümner in action
Some of the first internationals of the break took place on Thursday, with some faces from the TSG squad involved. World Cup qualifiers Belgium hosted fellow seeded nation Colombia in Brussels, but the “Red Devils” suffered a 2-0 defeat. Hoffenheim keeper Koen Casteels didn't make an appearance, however.
As part of a four-nation tournament, the Italy U20s, including TSG's Vincenzo Grifo, faced Germany. The match ended with a 1-1 draw, meaning Italy are currently in first place with six points ahead of Switzerland (5) and Germany (4).
Two Hoffenheim players were also involved for the U19s. The Germany squad are completing a training camp in France and played the first of two friendlies against the hosts on Wednesday evening. A topsy-turvy match ended in a 4-3 win for Kevin Akpoguma and Benjamin Trümner's side.
