Emergency appeal dismissed in Derdiyok case

Mannheim's employment tribunal have dismissed Eren Derdiyok's appeal to have a preliminary injunction dealt with urgently.

This means that the proceedings will not begin until September 12th. The court ruled that it was not feasible to meet Derdiyok's request of a speedier trial. The Swiss forward submitted an emergency appeal in the hope of rejoining TSG's first-team training immediately. Presiding judge Lothar Jordan proposed a settlement during the hearing, which would involve Derdiyok training with the Bundesliga first team every other day. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim did not accept the proposal.

Frank Briel, head of finances, organisation, administration and sport at TSG said: “We are in favour of the verdict, because we believe that we have always acted with the utmost responsibility in this case. We have put an immense amount of effort into ensuring that we have provided professional conditions.”
