Training starts back home as the new ‘fan hangout' gets initiated

For the first time in the new season, Friday morning saw TSG manager Markus Gisdol's players take to their own training pitches in Zuzenhausen. 300 fans were there to welcome the likes of Andreas Beck, Koen Casteels and new Norwegian signing Tarik Elyounoussi to training pitch 2.

“I figured there would be a lot of fans on the first day, but not this many,” said TSG supporter Hans-Peter Beisel, who wasn't going to miss out on the first training session. He was enjoying a nice cold cola in the new ‘fan hangout'. “It's a great idea. It's nice to see this building being put to good use.”

Daniel Schwöbel from Sinsheim also found the ‘fan hangout' opened on Friday morning a great addition. “The fans will no doubt embrace it. The room is still missing a little flair, but I'm sure that will change over the next few weeks.”

The players spent 90 minutes on the pitch under the watchful eyes of the fans. Roberto Firmino joined up with the group a little later in the session with the Brazilian having a dentist appointment earlier in the day. There was plenty of applause for the players during their warm down, which was followed by the some signing of autographs for the fans. A successful opening training session at home and a good way to initiate the new ‘fan hangout', which filled up again after training was over – another chance for the Hoffenheim supporters to cool down in the hot weather with an ice cold drink.
