New signing Anthony Modeste – The first interview

Anthony Modeste has only been with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for a matter of days. The striker moved to the Kraichgau from Ligue 1 side Girondins Bordeaux. We took the time during Thursday's DFL media day to chat to the Frenchman.

Hi Anthony. You've only been here since Tuesday. How have you settled in?

Anthony Modeste: I feel good here and I'm pleased that the move could happen so quickly. I'm looking forward to the task in Hoffenheim.

How are you getting on speaking to the players?

Anthony Modeste: I've mostly been speaking French or English. I need to learn German quickly. That's really important to me. The training camp from Monday is the best place for me to integrate with the squad and get to know everyone in the team a little better.

You were on loan at Bastia from Bordeaux last season. It went well for you there.

Anthony Modeste: That's right. I scored 15 goals. I'd like to pick up on that form in Hoffenheim but that's not vital for me. I want to train hard, develop as a player and help the team to play successful football.

You played in Ligue 1 and for a short while in the Premier League. What do you make of the Bundesliga?

Anthony Modeste: The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in Europe. That's not going to change any time soon either. I'm looking forward to the adventure and the challenge of establishing myself here.
