TSG training camp, day five – back to full speed

After a less physically challenging day, where video analysis needed brains instead of brawn, Marco Kurz's side picked up the intensity on day five of their training camp. It meant lots of sprinting and jumping exercises for the players as they look to find the right fitness levels. Only Marvin Compper (adductor problems) and Stephan Schröck (back problems) didn't train.

After lunch, most of the players were keen to make use of the break before the second training session. But like every other day, a few interviews were scheduled – among others, the Seyferts answered some questions. Father Heinz and son Christian are both kitmen at TSG. The only question they failed to answer was who their favourite player was. “We like to keep that to ourselves”, said a joking Heinz, who will celebrate his 50th anniversary at TSG this month.

The second session of the day was just as challenging and intensive, with the players doing exercises aimed at improving the flow of play when under pressure. “Because of the short amount of time we have left to prepare, we have to increase the intensity”, said Kurz. The goal for Hoffenheim is to pick up three points in their opening Bundesliga match of 2013 against Borussia Mönchengladbach on January 19th (15.30 CET kick-off).
