Attack bolstered: Igor de Camargo joins on loan
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have strengthened their attack by loaning Belgian international Igor de Camargo (29) from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Brazilian born striker has moved to the Kraichgau on loan until the end of the season.
TSG sporting director Andreas Müller: “With Igor we're hoping to have more penetration in attack. I'm confident that he can play an important role for us with his quality and experience in the Bundesliga.”
De Camargo started his playing career at KRC Genk in Belgium at the age of 17. He then had spells KVV Heusden-Zolder, FC Brussels and finally Standard Liege where he played between 2007 and 2010. The forward has also made 60 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
De Camargo opted for Belgian citizenship during his time at Standard Liege. In February 2009, he made his first appearance for Belgium in a match against Slovenia. He now has a total of nine caps.
