Schalke match reaction

Here's the match reaction following the thrilling 3-2 victory over FC Schalke 04:

Markus Babbel: It was a fascinating game for the fans, but this time we had some luck on our side that we didn't have against Fürth. It was clear that the team wouldn't be brimming with confidence, but they showed an incredible amount of passion today, battled to the end and had the terrific Tim Wiese in goal, who saved us on a number of occasions. That has to be the benchmark for the next game and then it will be difficult for every opponent against us.

Huub Stevens: We didn't get into the game enough and didn't make the most of our chances in the second half. That's how you end up losing games like this.

Kevin Volland: Obviously it's a positive day for us. The team battled hard. Sure, it's just the best feeling to score, but like I said, the team is what counts and we deserved our success today.

Sven Schipplock: When you're on the bench, you're itching to get on and do your bit. Of course, when it's the winning goal it's amazing. In principal, it doesn't matter who scores the goals; the main thing is that we succeed. We had bite right from the start of the match; we were energetic and aggressive. I think it was a good game from both teams but today we were able to reward ourselves.

Horst Heldt: I think we were superior today, but we didn't have enough in the final third to leave the pitch as winners.
