Reaction to the match in Mönchengladbach

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim recorded their fifth away win of the season after coming from behind to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1. What did the managers and players of the respective sides have to say about the result?

Markus Babbel: It was a very important win, considering the results in some of the other games today. I can't really say that we deserved to win it, but we showed a lot of fight and passion and we really worked hard. We defended very well in the first half, but then shot ourselves in the foot with the goal. We were fortunate that they missed chances at 1-0, and that gave us a route back into the match. Towards the end of the game, we were in the ascendancy and we took our chances clinically.

Lucien Favre: I don't see this defeat as a result of the match we played in the Cup on Wednesday. We had a lot of chances, and should have killed the game off well before they equalised. We were missing a bit of zip in our play. It's certainly disappointing to lose our first game at home in thirteen ‘ months.

Filip Daems: We want to finish as high as possible. I think we have to forget about winning the championship now, but we can still consolidate third place, and that's our aim. This game was a setback for us, though.

Tom Starke: I'm just relieved that we finally turned a game around and managed to win after conceding the first goal. After the turbulence of the last few weeks, this result was the best message that the club could have sent out.

Boris Vukcevic: We never lost our belief that we could win the game and we got our rewards at the end of the day. We rode our luck at times, but you make your own luck in this game.
