Match Reaction to Köln

1899 Hoffenheim were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to 1. FC Köln today. What did the players and managers of the respective teams have to say about the result?

Markus Babbel: It's a shame for the players and for the fans. I can't really criticise the team though, except for the fact that we didn't take our chances. We created a lot of opportunities against a defensively strong team. We just have to work on converting them. The performance was good, and the will to win was there for all to see. We missed an excellent chance and then got punished ruthlessly at the other end. But if we can't win, at least we didn't lose.

Stale Solbakken: We gave the ball away a lot in the first half. Hoffenheim captialised on that and had a couple of decent chances. We changed things at the break and I think we came back into the game well, considering we were playing a very good team with good balance and some excellent individuals. I'm very satisfied with the performance and that we were able to take a point, despite losing some players to injury.

Marvin Compper: We should have gone 2-0 up in the first half, and we had chances to score the second goal after half time as well. Unfortunately we weren't able to do that. In future we just have to make out dominance count more at home. Then we'll drop less points here.

Tobias Weis: It's very, very frustrating. We had a good chance to make it 2-0 and then we got punished. But it doesn't help to focus on the negatives and bring the mood in the camp down. We have a short week ahead of us and we need to look forward, not back.
