HSV match reaction

1899 Hoffenheim suffered a 2-0 loss to Hamburger SV. Here is the match reaction.

Frank Kramer:I think we started the game really well; we were compact, initiated things early and forced the opponents into mistakes, but we couldn't capitalise on our good movement as we needed to. Then, all of sudden, we went 1-0 down. The team wanted to turn the game around, but maybe we just lacked that final bit of will, that last bit of conviction up front. The second goal came from a set-piece that we failed to clear, and then obviously it's difficult once you're two goals behind. The team were decent defensively, we didn't allow much through. That's a step in the right direction. We have to have more conviction when the direction of play switches. We have to work on that some more.

Marvin Compper: We put a lot of pressure on the ball and tried to make it hard for HSV. We played the ball across the pitch too much rather than forwards and backwards. We're definitely conceding too many goals at the moment. We have to improve that, otherwise we'll go down. We have to stand together and make it more difficult for our opponents.

Torsten Fink: We had problems at the beginning, but I think we put in a convincing performance today. We didn't allow them many chances and put a lot more into the match than our opponents, so I think it is a deserved victory.

Tolgay Arslan: We put in a very concentrated display; we were dominant for 80 minutes and hardly gave Hoffenheim a chance. I think it was a deserved win for us.

Heiko Westermann: We did things well today and earned the three points. We want to give our all again next week, and then we can enjoy Christmas.
