Bayern match reaction

Match reaction after the 2-0 defeat in Munich:

Markus Babbel: Bayern deserved their victory but at the same time, I'm not unhappy with our performance. We did a lot right in defence. You need that slice of luck to put a side like Bayern under pressure. We lacked conviction in attack. At the end it was obvious that the lads were knackered because Bayern spread the ball well and we had to do a lot of running. When you take into account everything that has happened in the last few days, I have to take my hat off to my team.

Jupp Heynckes: We played clever football today, dominated the game and didn't let anything through in defence. That was the key to our success. It was important to keep a clean sheet, because we know we are always capable of scoring.

Daniel Williams: Until the opening goal, we were defensively strong and implemented our game plan well. The goal was difficult to defend because Franck Ribery is hard to defend against one-on-one. After the early goal in the second half, it was hard to come back.

Franck Ribery: It was an important victory today. It was good to react to the Champions League defeat so quickly. We must continue to play this way, think only of ourselves and try to win as many games as possible.

Marvin Compper: All in all, we didn't do enough to win here. We looked good at the back but couldn't find the final pass when we countered. We must concentrate and work harder and maybe after the international break, a few of the players will return with some extra confidence in order for us to win against Fürth in two weeks.

Koen Casteels: Bayern München played really well today. We wanted to stay tight defensively and we did that up until the second goal but Bayern had the quality to take both of their chances.
