1899 Hoffenheim 2-2 FC Augsburg – match reaction

Holger Stanislawski: I was disappointed with our performance today. We played well just after half time, but it was only then that we played like a team. We didn't fight for one another and play with one another. We're in eighth place now, but we need to make sure we don't get dragged towards the bottom three.

Jos Luhukay: It's a good point for us. We played well in certain phases of the game, and some weren't so good. We controlled the game for the first half hour, but then they came back into it. After conceding the second, we went for the win and got a deserved equaliser. It's pleasing to see how the team responded after the setbacks.

Marvin Compper: In the last half hour, Augsburg were very aggressive. We need to be a bit more convincing if we want to get through in the Cup next week. There were times today that we didn't function as a team, and we need to improve this.

Andreas Beck: Today's was a bad performance from us. We wanted to put them under more pressure, but we dropped off at times and invited pressure on our own goal.

Srdjan Lakic: I would have liked to make my debut today, but from a team point of view, I think we have to be satisfied with the point. I feel better, but not quite 100% fit yet. I think I should be fit enough to play soon though.

Tom Starke: How we're playing now isn't the way we want to be playing. I can't explain why we're playing this way though.

Ernst Tanner: Five draws in a row at home means too few points. We just have to keep working hard and stick together. Right now, we don't look that good a team, but it's a phase that we have to get through.

Sebastian Langkamp: We'd love to have taken three points, but we can be glad that we took at least one. We came close to winning it in the second half. The team showed a lot of character today. In future we might benefit from a little more experience to help us hold onto leads longer.
