TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3-1 VfL Wolfsburg (2-0) – Match Reaction

What did the managers and players of Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg have to say about today's game?

Holger Stanislawski: “The first half-hour from us was very good, we played sensibly. After going 2-0 up we neglected a lot of what we had worked on in training, and we also missed two fantastic chances. Roberto played well today, but there a couple of areas where he can still improve. It was a tough game and we were nervous when they pulled a goal back. But in the end we're delighted with the three points obviously.”

Felix Magath: “We wanted to control the game, but conceding the goal when we did made that difficult. We were better in the second half; I think the substitutes gave us more urgency. But, after Marwin Hitz was sent off, our chances of getting something from the game disappeared. They deserved the win.”

Andreas Beck: “We should have had the game wrapped up earlier today. But I think we played very well and deserved to win. We're in a good position in the league, but right now that's not important. We want to take it game by game and improve all the time. There are still things that we can do better.”

Tom Starke: “We gave a good performance today, and should have had the game dead and buried earlier than we did. But I was convinced that we were strong enough to see the game out, even after conceding.”

Roberto Firmino: “I'm delighted that I scored twice to help the team gain a victory. That is the most important thing.“
