Training update

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim suffered badly from it at the start of this season – the injury curse. When can we expect to see our stars back on the pitch?

Matthias Jaissle (3) – he has taken part in full training recently and come through test matches. After a long lay-off due to problems with his achilles and heel, Jaissle finally seems ready to get back into action. Head up Matze!

Boris Vukcevic (7) – Vukcevic became a regular in the first team last year, but suffered a broken fibula towards the end of the campaign and missed the entire 2011 pre-season recovering from an operation. He is making good progress, however. He should be back in full training with the first team in a few weeks.

Knowledge Musona (8) – Knowledge had barely arrived in Hoffenheim before he suffered a thigh injury. But he is back running with the first team and will be fit to take part in ball work by the middle of next week.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (11) – the crowd favourite from Iceland has come through light training, a sure sign that the injury to his right leg is getting better. Barring no hiccups, he should be able to return to the first team by the beginning of September.

Tobias Weis (17) – from very early on it became clear how important midfielder Tobse Weis would be to the team. He unfortunately suffered a knee injury which required surgery. The operation was successful though, and Weis should be fully fit in around four week's time

Vedad Ibisevic (19) – Vedad is another who has begun running and light training. Due to the extent of his injury he will need to be brought back to fitness gradually, and the medical team aim to do this within four weeks.

Andreas Ibertsberger (26) – Ibertsberger suffered an injury in pre-season, but he is now back to full training with the first team. Even if the game against Werder Bremen came a bit too soon, you can bet Andi was in the squad for it nonetheless!

Manuel Gulde (37) – Manuel Gulde's last first team appearance was on October 24th 2010, and he has since suffered further injuries in his recovery. But in the last few weeks he has managed to train with a ball. “It wasn't full first team training, but it still felt great to finally be able to kick a ball again”, said Manu.
