Tobias Weis back in training

Tobias Weis has returned to full team training with 1899 Hoffenheim after recovering from injury. The 25-year old completed a full training session with the first team on Monday for the first time since he discovered a hairline fracture in his left foot as well as ligament damage after a persistent ankle problem. His last appearance was on 12th February in the 4-0 defeat against FC Bayern München.

Having been out of action for almost 6 weeks, the number 17 was back in training with his colleagues in Zuzenhausen although he has still not fully recovered from the damaged ankle. "I haven't quite reached the point where everything is running smoothly again, but, at the very least, it was good to be back in training with the lads", stated Weis. Over the past few weeks, the Stuttgart native has been working intensively with 1899's athletic coaches Christof Elser and Yannick Obenauer to get back to full fitness as soon as possible. Chances are his return isn't too far away either: "We'll have to wait and see how my body responds to being back in training, but everything else should follow once in due course", explained Weis, whose efforts have not gone unnoticed by head coach Marco Pezzaiuoli. "He's done some exemplary work during his recovery and I hope he can stay injury-free for as long as possible. Having a player like Tobias is a benefit to any side."
