Reaction against Schalke 04

1899 Hoffenheim recorded their first win of the second half of the season as they outclassed a lacklustre Schalke 04. Here's what those involved had to say about the match:

Marco Pezzaiuoli: I'm very happy with my team and their performance today. We managed to keep a clean sheet throughout the 90 minutes, with an extra two on the end as well. We stayed compact and combined well in the middle of the park despite the difficult conditions with the pitch. However, we could have finished the game off in the first half and that's something we need to work on.

Felix Magath: Hoffenheim didn't give us an inch today and we we're poor going forward. Overall it was a thoroughly disappointing performance.

Andreas Beck: When you have as many chances as we did today, you have to win by a bigger difference. Obviously we're still really pleased with the result. Not many people gave us a chance after we lost to Cottbus, but we took full advantage of the underdog tag we had been given.

Manuel Neuer: In ordinary matches a performance like this just doesn't cut it. It's something we've struggled with throughout the season. Why this is happening is something I can't answer, but it's something we need to face.
