Reaction against Eintracht Frankfurt

1899 Hoffenheim broke their three match winless streak as they fought their way to a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Here's what those involved had to say about Saturday's encounter.

Marco Pezzaiuoli: Today wasn't for fans of the beautiful game, but at the end of the day we managed to score the decisive goal. The win today was crucial for the team given that it has been a tumultuous couple of days for the club. I'm really pleased with the win and happy that we've managed to reach the 40-point mark. Now we'll be able to play with an element of freedom in our last couple of matches.

Christoph Daum: Games are decided by goals and today Hoffenheim scored that goal. In the second half Hoffenheim definitely put more pressure on us, but ultimately there weren't that many goalscoring chances. We defended well throughout and taking a point would have been a huge bonus for us. However, nothing set in stone yet when it comes to our season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson: In the second half we put in a performance worthy of playing in front of our own fans. I'm incredibly relieved that we managed to get the three points today because it's been too long since we last won a match. Now I'm looking forward to the next match.

Vedad Ibisevic: It wasn't the prettiest of wins, but it was definitely one we needed. Overall I believe we deserved the three points, but there was undoubtedly an element of luck about it. I was relieved when we scored, however, I was confident we could've scored more. Tom Starke once again put in a top performance, but he's been consistently good for us all season it has to be said. That's why we've got a keeper like him.

Patrick Ochs: We were better in the first half for sure, but we couldn't buy ourselves a chance today. Hoffenheim were callous and clinical. It probably has something to do with the fact that they're sitting mid-table while were battling away against relegation.

Ernst Tanner: I'm glad we've managed to get to 40-points. Ultimately we know we haven't been at our best, but we were never in danger of going down. Today even we know we weren't any great shakes, but it's not important given the fact that three points has come with it. It was a very tactical encounter mainly due to the fact that Frankfurt relied on counter attacking opportunities.
